INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Intellectual property (IP) refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works. IP is protected in law by, for example, patents, copyright, trademarks, Industrial Design, Integrated Circuit Layout, Geographical Indicators, and Trade Secrets. This enable people to earn recognition or financial benefit from what they invent or create. Thus, the IP system aims to foster an environment in which creativity and innovation can flourish.

The objective is to bring awareness among the Faculty members and Students about IPR and Generation and implementation of IPR.

IP Cell activities

Providing support in terms of filling and managing entire prosecution of patents, copyrights, trademarks, design patents for the potential IP aspirants.

To ensure that agreements such as Memoranda of Understanding (MoU), Research Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA), Material Transfer Agreements (MTA), entered by SIU with universities, research institutions, industry, and funding agencies, including government agencies and foundations are consistent with the provisions of the IP Policy of SIU (Symbiosis International Deemed University).
