A Gold Medal awardee at M.D. (Ob & Gyn), Dr. Rajiv topped the Maharashtra Public Service Commission examination and was faculty in the Dept of Ob & Gyn, B. J. Medical College and Sassoon General Hospital, Pune, before he established the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences (FoMHS) at SIU.
The FoMHS has conceptualized & implemented a group of unique, innovative and career oriented programmes meant to raise a cadre of healthcare professionals who would ensure delivery of optimum healthcare services by all cadres of healthcare professionals. The Symbiosis Medical College for Women (SMCW) and the Symbiosis University Hospital & Research Centre (SUHRC) have been recent additions to the FoMHS.
A Ph.D. from the Faculty of Management, Pune University, Dr. Rajiv has been a member of various Governmental bodies including the erstwhile Medical Council of India, Central Supervisory Board, Maharashtra Medical Council, Maharashtra Nursing Council, Consultancy Development Center, DSIR etc. & is an active member of professional organizations like FICCI, NATHEALTH etc.
Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar is a Member of the Specialists Board of DNB & FNB in the specialty of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India, Member of Accreditation Board for the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC), CII Western Region Sub-Committee on Healthcare and also ex member of Senate of the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences’ (MUHS). He is also a member of the Planning & Monitoring Board, Academic Council and Board of Management of SIU.
Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar is championing the concept of Health Promoting Higher Educational Institutes in India. He is a Member of the Steering group of International Health Promoting Universities and Colleges, the working group of UGC to bring out policy on Health Promoting University & the Fit India Movement Campaign Committee, MHRD, GoI. He has been nominated on the WHO Project on Development of Health and Wellness Assessment Index for Higher Educational Institutions in India. As a member of various national bodies, Dr Rajiv has contributed to policy formulation and regulatory mechanisms influencing healthcare delivery and medical / nursing education nationally.
Recipient of many awards and accolades, Dr. Rajiv has contributed a number of articles in various national and international journals.
