Dean's Message
Dr. Sanjeevani Ayachit, is an Associate Professor and Director of Symbiosis Institute of Design, and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune, India. She has an experience of 20 years in the field of apparel design, design education and consultancy.

Director's Message
Dr. Sanjeevani Ayachit is currently the Director at the Symbiosis Institute of Design and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Symbiosis International (Deemed University). She holds a PhD from SIU, a Master's degree in Clothing and Textiles from M. S. University of Baroda and 20 years of experience in the field of apparel design, design education and consultancy.
On completing her Masters' degree, she worked at Raymond Apparel Ltd. (RAL), Thane, followed by teaching apparel, textiles and fashion design at the S. N. D. T. College of Home Science, Pune and at a private institute in Pune. She also worked as Manager – Quality Control at a Pune based apparel brand, Sleepins Apparel Pvt. Ltd.
Dr. Sanjeevani has served as the head of the departments of Fashion Design and Fashion Communication at SID and also as Deputy Director. Her research interests include heritage Indian textiles and costumes, fashion design process, design thinking and inclusive design. She has co-authored a book documenting the historic textiles and costumes in the collection of the Kelkar Museum in Pune, India. She has presented research papers at several conferences and published her research in reputed journals. She has been invited as a design expert at several panel discussions, served as a PhD thesis examiner and is on the Board of Studies of a Bengaluru based university.

Director's Message
Dr Nandini Kulkarni is currently the Officiating Director at the Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture and Design. She is a Doctorate and the Ph D was awarded her on “Investigating The Impact of Quality of Life on the Peri urban Area of Metro cities.” With a Master's degree in Urban Planning from VNIT, and Bachelor of Architecture, she has also completed the Bachelor of Technology in Interior Design.
With the vast experience in the field of Architecture, Planning and Interior Design, she has Independently completed the designing and construction of Residences, commercial buildings and Multispecialty Hospital Building.
She has a specialisation in designing a module for the Urban –Rural fringe area development with respect to Quality of Life of the people residing in fringe areas. Dr. Nandini is an author of a Book titled "The Urban Edges”. The book is an effort to evolve and present A humane approach for planning urban fringes / peri urban areas in Indian cities. Dr Nandini has a wide experience of more than 25 years including professional Architectural practice and teaching. She is also a National awardee of Birla White “YuvaRatna” National award for three years and Birla White “YuvaRatna” Regional award for two years.
