Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (SCMS)
SCMS, Nagpur is a constituent of Symbiosis International University, Pune and was established in 2019 in the city of Nagpur. Nagpur is known as the ‘Orange City’ and the ‘Tiger capital of India’. The sprawling 75-acre campus situated in the Wathoda area is well equipped with excellent hostel facilities, including wi-fi and air conditioning, in the campus gymnasium, sports complex, café, mess, etc.
SCMS, Nagpur offers a 4-year BBA Honors/ Honors with Research programme (3+1) which is in accordance with NEP 2020. The Academic Excellence we provide to our students is our greatest strength. We have a strong team of research-oriented faculty members who impart theoretical as well as application-oriented education. The teaching pedagogy includes experiential learning, class activities, debates, group discussions, practical tasks. The programme framework allows options to pursue Major & Minor courses out of the following:
- Marketing Management
- Human Resource Management
- Finance
- FinTech
- International Business
Apart from this, we have integrated multidisciplinary, ability and skill enhancement courses, life-long learning and life skills in the curriculum. The curriculum is carefully designed with a motive to enhance the employability skills, entrepreneurial skills, research aptitude and a strong base for higher education. BBA Honors/ Honors with Research programme at SCMS, Nagpur also provides opportunities for semester exchange programmes with foreign universities like Hoshchule University, Germany, HWR University, Germany, IESEG University, France, LBU, UK to name a few.
Our students are trained to meet the "Graduate Attributes" defined by SIU. We attempt to align with those "Graduate Attributes" through a variety of innovative teaching- learning techniques and activities like presentations, seminars, workshops, conferences, fests, contests, etc. Our cells, clubs and committees are students driven which give them first-hand experience on planning, organising, directing and controlling. Life at SCMS, Nagpur is the right balance of academics, experiential learning and fun!
Director's Message
Dr. Sameer Pingle has over two decades of experience in corporate and management education. He has worked with institutes of repute, like NMIMS, Indore campus, and Nirma University, Ahmedabad, in the past. He has been a visiting professor to IIT- Gandhinagar, IIM- Nagpur, Ahmedabad Management Association, and many others.
He visited the Hof University of Applied Sciences, Hof, Germany, thrice and received the ERASMUS Fellowship in 2017 as part of International Teaching Week. There are many awards to his credit from reputed associations like AIMS, ISTD, HEF, NIPM, KRDWG, ULektz, Jagranjosh, B-School Affairs, Lexicon Group of Institutes, MTC Global, DKRF, Nirma University for research, teaching and administration and also an International award from Hof university for teaching excellence.
He has guided six doctoral scholars and conducted management development programmes for reputed organizations from India and abroad. He has done consulting assignments with organizations like Shriram Group, the Government of Gujarat, Kalupur Commercial Co-operative Bank Ltd, Nirlife, and others. Dr. Pingle has conducted training programmes for executives from organizations of repute like ONGC, HPCL, IOCL, GSFC, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Kalpataru Power Transmission, Ultratech, VANAMATI, GVK-EMRI, Ford India, Bank of Baroda and many others. He has conducted many Faculty Development Programmes on Case Teaching Pedagogy and Innovative Pedagogy. Dr. Pingle is a certified POSH trainer and certified Yoga teacher.
His research interests are employer branding, HR practices in MSMEs, employee engagement, and management education. His teaching interests are performance management, International HRM, talent acquisition, and others
