Post Graduate Programmes

Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP Test) is the gateway for Post Graduate Programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

Since 2007, candidates aspiring to join MBA programs offered by institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) have to take the common, mandatory Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test.

Candidates should register and pay for SNAP Test & institutes offering his/ her choice of program by paying separate institute program wise registration fees. For more details and registration, please visit

In the SNAP Test, candidate is judged on General English, Current Affairs, Quantitative Aptitude and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. If shortlisted, he/she should attend the GE-PIWAT process conducted separately by each of these institutes.

Undergraduate Programmes


Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET Test) is the gateway for Under Graduate Programmes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a common written test for the admission processes of undergraduate Institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) established as under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 vide notification No.F.9.12/2001 U.3 of the Govt. of India. In the year 2002 there were 3 constituent Institutes of SIU. Subsequently ten more Institutes of Symbiosis have been brought under the ambit of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) vide notification No.F.9.12/2006-U.3 (A).

It is a mandatory written test for the admission process for the undergraduate programmes of the following Symbiosis Institutes.

A candidate can register for one paper from the morning session; viz, Law or Design and one paper from the afternoon session; viz, General or Engineering or Health Sciences.

For Engineering and Health Sciences, a candidate need not register for SET if he / she wishes to offer scores of entrance tests other than SET [such as JEE(Main)]. Such candidate may apply directly to the concerned institute. (For more details please visit to institute web site.)

About Ph.D programmes

Symbiosis International (Deemed University) offers a PhD programme under the guidelines prescribed by the University Grants Commission (2009). The programme is offered in the 8 faculties of Law, Management, Computer Studies, Health & Biological Sciences, Media & Communication, Architecture & Design, Humanities & Social Sciences and Engineering .

The University predetermines the number of doctoral students that can be admitted to the programme based on the number of available research guides. The University aims to maintain a high standard in its research, and with this goal in mind, and as per the directives of the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor on recommendation of the Academic Council, the University has followed a specific criteria of selection.

International Admissions

Symbiosis Centre for International Education (SCIE) handles all subject mattersrelating to admissions of International Students to the constituent institutes of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

Categories listed under International Students Admissions are as follows:

Foreign National (FN):

A student is eligible to apply as a Foreign National (FN) if he/she holds a foreign passport.

Person of Indian Origin (PIO):

A student is eligible to apply as a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) if he/she has a PIO card and is a citizen of a country other than India.

Non Resident Indian (NRI):

A student is eligible to apply as a Non Resident Indian (NRI) if he/she has appeared for either the 10th or 10+2 (equivalent to the Indian 10th (SSC) & 12th (HSC)) examination outside India.
It is mandatory for anystudent applying as an NRI to appear for the SET test if he/she has appeared for 12th (HSC) examination in India.

International students are able to apply online and needonly come to India when his/her application is shortlisted for the chosen programme. The application procedure consists of 15 simple steps; it begins with a basic eligibility check of important documents to be submitted and concludeswith the final payment confirming admission.
