70th Independence Day - 15th August 2016, was celebrated with great pomp at Symbiosis International (Deemed University). Dr. Rajani Gupte, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Symbiosis International (Deemed University) unfurled the National Flag and gave an enlightening speech to all the staff and students present.
The Vice Chancellor greeted everyone present for the celebration. She said that most people say that India is the fastest growing economy in the world. It is believed that by the year 2050, India will have overtaken the United States as well as China. This is possible only when our young staff, young students and each and every one of us rise to the occasion. Our young generation in the next three or four decades will have to deliver for this dream to come true. This won’t happen on its own, for this to happen we need to make sure that whatever we do is perfect. The Macro is not in our control, it may change but what we can change is the micro. A small thing what can be done is to take pride in the job we do. This will ensure that what we do is done with a great a deal of conviction and will be perfect. She said that, ‘Imagine if each one would have done our work perfectly and with pride, then all our roads would be perfect, all our bridges would be perfect and each single thing in this world would be perfect’. She said that no job is big or small, each and every job is important and each one of us should take pride in what we do. The speech was followed by some excellent performances of Symbiosis students and the ‘Freedom for Run 2016’ organised by the University Sports Board for all the staff and students of Symbiosis.
